| Disclaimer: This page is an unofficial Hillcrest interest group page for Ultimate Fight Championship-style information. While we train primarily for personal growth and self-defense, it is still interesting to see the Jujitsu in action. The following clips are focused on the skillful application of techinque, and not just on bashing other people. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| You may need to a right-click and "save-as" because I was having some issues with loading these in the browser. You may get a 404 error if you just click on it, but the right-click download does work (strange). "save-as" will save locally, which is better anyway for replay. Royce Gracie vs. Akebono (from www.RoyceGracie.tv) - Windows Media file. 2mins 37 seconds (~4 meg). This has a freak-show quality because the sumo guy is so much larger than Royce, but Royce beats him with technique - even from the guard, which seems impossible against somebody that outweighs him by like 300 pounds. These clips were all downloaded from www.sherdog.com. Some are from no-holds-barred events, and some are "pure" grappling. These are ~15 secs apiece (~1 meg). Shamrock v. Rutten - Great knee-bar. Gracie v. Taktarov - A great example of "it's not over 'till it's over" Rickson Gracie v. Yamamoto - Another great example of "it's not over..." Gracie v. Muraoko - Nice takedown, and an example of why you never turn your back on your opponent. Gracie v. Mihoubi - Great arm-bar. Shamrock v. Papadopolous - Great ankle-lock. Arona v. Machado - An example of what happens when you lose your balance. Trigg v. Machado - What happens when shooting the legs goes very badly... Ruas v. Smith - Great ankle-lock Machado v. Patino - Another great ankle lock Severn v. Goss - Watch how the guy rolls from the guard to the top, and how his opponent again makes the mistake of turning his back. F. Shamrock v. Enoue - Ouch! Knees hurt... (marred by bad sportsmanship from the corner after the fight was over) Severn v. Murphy - Bad camera angle, but I think this is a keylock on the arm. | |||||||||||||||||||||
